Over the years Ark has become one of the most popular and successful survival games in history, but the Ark building system is not without flaws, which is where some well thought-out Ark building mods can help.

There are thousands of building mods out there for Ark, but with years of experience in the game, both running our own servers and playing, we’ve amassed tons of experience with many of the best Ark mods out there. So without further ado, we bring you the best Ark building mods for 2022.

1. S+ (Structures Plus)

We all love building in Ark, but wish that things just worked a little better, often snapping objects into place can be a nightmare, and building fences straight is near on impossible.

But not with S+, it’s an Ark building mod that has been created to fix some of those annoying issues, as well as adding a ton of additional quality of life features to the game too.

From fence posts to ensure a perfectly straight perimeter to nannies to look after young dinosaurs this is easily one of the greatest mods and one I find it impossible to play without.

S+ is also well documented on the workshop page, so if you’re not happy with some of the additional features or settings, you can simply follow the documentation to change the settings and adjust things to your liking.

2. Castles, Keeps, and Forts Medieval Architecture

How do you improve a game where dinosaurs co-habit with people, and you can fly upon winged beasts? You build a massive fancy castle, that’s how!

The Castles, Keeps, and Forts Medieval Architecture Ark building mod is one of the best ark mods out there to help players get creative, in-fact, some of the most impressive base designs I have ever seen have been created using this mod.

Ever wanted to have a secret room in your base, or a giant castle gate? Thanks to Castles, Keeps, and Forts Medieval Architecture, this and so much more is now possible.

Another great feature is the ability to add skins to building parts, such as lava or ice, allowing you to create an ice castle or fiery keep by simply changing the skin on your base.

3. Eco’s Stable Structures and Decor

Keeping dinosaurs is great, isn’t it? But keeping them in their own little stables is always better, and this awesome little mod does just that, letting you take your ark buildings and add a fantastic stable on the side for your creatures.

With Eco’s Stable Structures and Decor, you can decorate your dinosaur holding pens and add that rustic feel to the dino barn.

4. Platforms Plus

Why build on the ground where all those nasty dinosaurs and creatures want to eat you when you can build in the safety of a tree.

Ark can be a dangerous place, which is why making your base in a tree can be a great way to ensure your survival, but trying to build a treehouse in ark and make it look good is a task in itself.

The mod adds new snapping points for treehouse structures, new treehouses parts to build, and much more, making surviving look so much more awesome.

5. Eco’s RP Decor Mod

There is nothing worse than making a nice living room or kitchen for your tribemates and realizing it looks bare. Eco’s RP Decor Mod adds new prop items making your base look so much more interesting and exciting.

As well as adding tons of new items to the game, Eco’s RP Decor Mod also includes a journal, which can be edited and shared with others, so that they can add their own entries into it to.

If you’ve ever felt that your base in Ark required a little more of a personal touch, then there really is no better mod out there, it literally has everything, including the kitchen sink.

Summary

While Ark is a great game, sometimes it needs that little nudge to iron out some of it’s flaws, which is where the community comes in, and the Ark modding community is one of the best I have ever seen.

While most Ark mods work together well, make sure to check the documentation on the Steam Workshop before installing an Ark mod onto your server, as this will mention any compatibility issues.

I was wondering if there’s a reason you point to the legacy version of CKF in 2021, and not the remastered one. Are there features in the original that are missing from remastered?

Hi Amber, we update this post every so often, changing the top mods based on what’s currently the best ones. CKF has consistently been awesome, which means it’s been on the list since the start, as such the link remained the same and the new branch was missed.

Thank you for pointing this out, I’ve gone ahead and updated it to the CKF Remastered link.
