If you’re wondering where to find the rebreather in Sons Of The Forest, you’re in luck! Thankfully, it’s pretty easy to get hold of, and the cave where the rebreather is located isn’t too difficult.
In fact, you don’t have to face a single mutant cannibal if you don’t want to (though you will miss out on some loot if you avoid them).
Here’s how to get the Sons Of The Forest rebreather easily.
Sons Of The Forest Rebreather Cave Location
The rebreather in Sons Of The Forest is located in a cave just off the shoreline. At the mouth of the river, you’ll see a cave icon on the map; it’s pretty hard to miss.
Once you’ve found the location on the map, simply walk into the cave which is depicted by quite a large and obvious entrance.
Note: Opposite the cave entrance, if you follow the shoreline, you’ll come across the location for the can opener in Sons Of The Forest. If you then cross the water once you’ve located the can opener, you’ll be able to find the machete shotgun rail.
Locating the Rebreather in Sons Of The Forest
When you enter the cave, you’ll be able to pick up an oxygen canister and a few other bits of loot. While you don’t have to face the enemies in the cave if you don’t want to, I suggest setting up a small shelter of some sort inside the entrance so you can save.
Follow the cave until you get to a fork where you can turn left or right. Turn left if you want to continue down the path to the rebreather, or head right if you want to face some terrifying cannibals, babies, and freaky finger men!
Soon you’ll reach a pool of water. In the water, there is a shark, but you can take this down pretty easily with a bow and some arrows.
The rebreather is located on the floor by the small pile of books on the other side of the entrance where you came in. Once you’ve dealt with the shark, you can equip your rebreather.
If you don’t equip your rebreather, you can still jump into the body of water. As soon as you go under the water, the rebreather will automatically equip.
Jump into the water from where you picked the rebreather up in Sons Of The Forest then turn left to head through the underwater tunnel. After quite some time, you’ll finally exit the tunnel and into the sea near the beach where the cave is located. Swim upwards and head to shore.
