Ratropolis Leaders
There are six leaders in Ratropolis, all of them boasting unique abilities and a passive bonus. Let’s look at each one in detail to determine the best Ratropolis leader.
1. Builder Leader
Once you survive the 10th wave in a game, you’ll unlock the Builder Leader in Ratropolis. The Builder Leader starts with the Engineer Advisor and his Leader ability is Blueprint.
Engineer Advisor: This allows you to upgrade buildings using the same Building Card.
Leader Ability: You can discard one random card (+1 per leader level) from your hand. In return, you’ll gain a random Ephemeral Building Card for each one you discard. The cooldown on this Leader Ability is 90 seconds.
Starting Cards: Cheese (x3), Grain, Potter, Land Tax, House, Guards, Militia
2. General Leader
You can unlock the General Leader by playing the game once. The General Leader’s starting advisor or Constable and his Leader Ability is Train.
Passive Bonus: +2 Ratizen for every Military Card you have
Active Bonus: +1 Attack/+3 HP (+1/+3 per leader level) Ephemeral buff to all the Military Cards you hold in your hand. The cooldown on this Leader Ability is 90 seconds.
Starting Cards: Cheese (x3), Grain, Potter, Hunt, House, Guards, Militia
3. Merchant Leader
The Merchant Leader doesn’t have any requirements to unlock it. It’s the base leader available from the start of the game. His Passive Bonus is Discount and his Leader Ability is Deal.
Passive Bonus: Discount receives a 25% discount when you purchase a card from a Merchant.
Leader Ability: Discard 1 (+1 per leader level) random card from your hand. You will gain 10% of your total Gold per discarded card. The cooldown on this Leader Ability is 60 seconds.
Starting Cards: Cheese (x3), Grain, Potter, Gather, House, Guards, Militia
4. Navigator Leader
Once you get 5 Achievements, you’ll unlock the Navigator Leader. His Passive Bonus is Compass and his Leader Ability is Adventure.
Passive Bonus: +1 card selection when acquiring a card.
Leader Ability: Get 1 of 2 Quest Cards. The reward is increased by 100% (+100% per leader level). The cooldown on this leader ability is 90 seconds.

5. Scientist Leader
You will need to survive the 20th wave in a game to unlock the Scientist Leader. His Passive Bonus is Focus and his Leader Ability is Discovery.
Passive Bonus: Using a Skill Card will reduce your Leader Ability cooldown by 5 seconds.
Leader Ability: Get 1 of 3 (+3 per leader level) random Ephemeral 0 cost Skill Card. The cooldown on this Leader Ability is 60 seconds.

6. Shaman Leader
Once you’ve played the game ten times, you’ll unlock the Shaman Leader. Her Passive Bonus is Medium and her Leader Ability is Ritual.
Passive Bonus: +1 Soul on unit death
Leader Ability: Obtain 1 (+1 per leader level) Soul for each card in Card Tomb. The cooldown on this Leader Ability is 60 seconds.
