This is one of the Ranch Sim updates we’ve all been waiting for; gardening and greenhouses. The Ranch Sim September update went live on September 29th, 2022, and brings with it a fully-fledged gardening system.
There are multiple crops you can grow and cultivate, as well as the option to grow plants in a greenhouse, or outdoors. Let’s dive into the action to see what you can expect from the latest Ranch Sim update.
What Can You Grow in Ranch Simulator?

In the gardening and greenhouses update, players can now grow 8 different crop types including tomatoes, cabbages, peppers, strawberries, pumpkins, pineapples, grapes, and watermelons. Pumpkins, watermelons, and cabbage seeds are currently the cheapest crops to buy in Ranch Sim, costing just $10.
Just like in real life, each crop will require a different amount of water and will grow at different rates. And, if they’re not looked after correctly, could get diseased and need more care and attention from you to survive.

Of course, crops can also be fertilized to accelerate their growth using the composter to convert animal faeces into fertilizer. This is available to buy from the store in Ranch Sim for $250.
Once fully grown, you can sell your fruit and vegetables in the store to make more money in Ranch Sim.
Growing Your Crops

You can choose to grow your crops in Ranch Sim outdoors, or inside a greenhouse. With the introduction of glass, you can now build greenhouses, allowing you to fill them up with delicious crops.
A sprinkler has been added to the game, costing $25 from the General Store. Once purchased, you can place the sprinkler down to automatically water your crops so you don’t have to manually do it. You can place the sprinkler down inside crop plots or on the ground outside.
Note: Sprinklers must be placed within the radius of the windmill to automatically water your crops.
If you don’t buy a sprinkler, you will, unfortunately, have to water your crops using a watering can or similar, taking up a lot of your precious time.
Adding More to The Ranch Sim Roadmap
We’ve got to hand it to them, the Ranch Simulator developers have done a great job of delivering what they said they would when they said they would.

In addition to greenhouses and gardening, you’ll now notice the addition of NPC vehicles moving along the road to give a more lifelike feel to Ranch Sim.
Next, in November, we can expect crop/wheat production and harvesting, as well as a new vehicle; a tractor!
