Are you wondering how to increase the education rating in Planet Zoo? Good! You’ve come to the right place because I’m going to tell you all about how to raise the education level to ensure your guests remain happy.
You can educate your guests by placing educational items like boards and speakers around your zoo. It’s important to place these items near animal habitats so that your guests can learn more about the animals they are viewing and visiting.
There are plenty of Planet Zoo education heatmap overviews that you can look at to improve your zoo’s education rating. In addition to teaching your guests about each animal, you can also place Conservation Boards around to educate guests on issues like poaching.
You’ll need to find the optimal position to place your educational items so that your guests get the most out of their experience. This means you’ll need to cover every viewing angle, without overlapping information (we’ll get to that in a moment).
How to Find Education Items in Planet Zoo

- Open up the Facilities tab from the menu at the bottom of your screen
- Select Media Devices and Education from the pop-up menu
- Choose relevant educational items like Educational Speaker, and Conservation Board
- You will need to select the Habitat Education Board Set from the menu ($40.00)
- Be careful not to get confused with the Habitat Education Board Legs as these are just the legs for the screen
Education Screens in Planet Zoo

It’s recommended that you place a Habitat Educational Board at every guest viewing point. This will ensure the education rating in your zoo increases as it will provide your guests with the relevant information.
When you place a board near a habitat, the board will pick up the animal residing in the habitat closest by. As you can see from the image above, my educational board has picked up that the nearest habitat contains a Bengal Tiger.
Note: If your habitat contains more than one species of animal, you can select the animals from the drop-down list. It’s advised to spread the boards out evenly if you have multiple animals.
What About Exhibit Education Boards?
Don’t forget to do the same with your Exhibits in Planet Zoo. You can place an Exhibit Educational Board next to your exhibits, ensuring they are powered and spread out evenly like the other boards.
Educational Speakers

Educational Speakers are just as important as Educational Boards. Similar to the boards, you can select which animal you’d like the speakers to share information about.
You can also increase the range – here you should make sure the range covers the viewing area where your guests are standing. If you place an educational speaker near the wrong habitat, or somewhere other than the viewing area, guests will become unhappy and won’t increase your zoo’s education rating.

Paying attention to overlapping education ranges in Planet Zoo is arguably one of the most important things you need to consider. If you place two or more educational speakers too close to each other, or their ranges overlap, your guests will become confused and your education rating will drop.
Planet Zoo Education Heatmap
You can navigate to the Education Heatmap in your Planet Zoo game to identify any gaps where guests aren’t benefiting from educational items. The easiest way to do this is to click on the smiley (or sad) face in the bottom left of your screen. This will bring up all of the heatmaps you can look at.
Select the education heatmap to check out how you can improve the education rating in your Zoo.
- Black: No power is being received. You will need to power your educational items so your guests benefit from them.
- Yellow: These educational items are receiving the incorrect animal information for the nearby habitat, or have no information to display.
- Blue: These areas show where your education items are reaching. If your guests cannot access these areas, they won’t be able to increase the education rating in your zoo.
