Ninentdo Confirms the Price of Physical Switch 2 Games Is Not Increasing

Over the years, gamers have had to endure a rapid increase in the price of both physical and digital games. With the gaming industry feeling the pinch of inflation and many gaming companies struggling to stay afloat, even studio giants such as Epic are feeling the pinch and facing mass layoffs. Considering Switch games are already among the most expensive in the market, most gamers have been concerned about further price hikes on their favorite Switch 2 games.

Well, fear not, as for once, I get to write something positive about the gaming industry, something that has been a difficult feat as of late. Nintendo has announced that it will not be raising the price of Nintendo Switch 2 games. Instead, they will be focusing on offering better value for money with their digital releases to reflect the reduced cost to ship them.

If you’re like me and you prefer to keep a physical copy on your shelves to show off your collection, you’ve got nothing to worry about; the prices should remain steady, for now at least. But if you’re happy with a digital download from the Nintendo Store, you could save yourself a few dollars.

The Nintendo Switch offers some of the best co-op games out there, from the award-winning It Takes Two to multiplayer legends such as Super Mario Party Jamboree. The Nintendo Switch 2 is at its best when played together, and with physical prices remaining the same, and digital prices becoming more affordable, this announcement gives us hope that we can continue to enjoy our favorite games without needing to worry about price hikes.
