Valve Announces New Limited Edition White Steam Deck OLED

While the Steam Deck still holds the crown as the king of handheld PCs, it does, however, lack one feature: color variations. That’s about to change, albeit for a limited time while stocks last, as Valve will soon be selling a limited edition white Steam Deck OLED.

Unfortunately, the color is just about the only thing that’s new here. Specs-wise, the new limited edition white Steam Deck will be the standard 1TB Steam Deck OLED, with no upgrades. In case you’re wondering, here’s what’s included with the 1TB Steam Deck OLED:

• 1280 x 800 HDR OLED display with premium anti-glare etched glass
• 7.4″ Diagonal display size
• up to 90Hz refresh rate
• Wi-Fi 6E
• 50Whr battery; 3-12 hours of gameplay (content-dependent)
• 45W Power supply with 2.5m cable
• Carrying case with removable liner
• Steam profile bundle, exclusive startup movie and keyboard theme

Sadly, Valve has stated that we won’t be seeing a Steam Deck 2 for some time yet. So if you’ve been holding out for that, you might be waiting a long time, making this a great time to get a stylish limited edition Steam Deck instead.

The New Steam Deck OLED: Limited Edition White will be available for $679, $20 more than the black 1TB Steam Deck OLED.

Keeping with the white aesthetics, this bundle includes not only the Steam Deck itself but also the supplied carry case and microfibre cleaning cloth. However, making a white microfibre cleaning cloth seems like an odd choice and something that won’t stay white for very long.

If you’re keen to get your hands on the Steam Deck OLED: Limited Edition White, it will be available from November 18th, and will ship to “everywhere the Steam Deck currently ships worldwide”. As the name suggests, this is a limited edition product; as soon as stocks run out, there won’t be any more, so if you plan on grabbing one, make sure to be quick.

This isn’t the first time that Valve has tested the waters with color variants for the Steam Deck. Last year, they released a smoky translucent limited edition Steam Deck OLED as an experiment to see if there was much interest in alternative colorways. It turns out there was, which makes it more likely that stock for the Steam Deck OLED: Limited Edition White won’t last long.
