The opening cinematic intro in Conan Exiles has undoubtedly been seen many times. But, if you’re launching the game after a crash or simply played hundreds of hours, you’re probably wondering if disabling the Conan Exiles intro is possible. The good news — it is! Much like you can turn on/off nudity in Conan, you can also turn off the intro scene.
But, it’s not as simple as clicking a button in your Conan Exiles settings to turn this off. You’ll need to go into your game’s install folder to disable it. Stay with us, here’s how to skip that annoying opening cinematic intro you’ve seen enough of!
How to Disable the Conan Exiles Opening Intro
You’ll need to navigate to the location where your Conan Exiles game is installed. If you’re not sure where it’s located, simply open Steam, go to your Library, then located Conan Exiles. From here, Right-click, select Manage, then click Browse local files. This will open up a folder where your Conan Exiles game is installed and will look something like this: E:\SteamLibrary\steamapps\common\Conan Exiles
Once you’ve located the game’s install folder, here’s how you go about disabling the Conan Exiles intro:

- Navigate to E:\SteamLibrary\steamapps\common\Conan Exiles
- Located the folder called ConanSandbox
- Select and open the Config folder
- Search for DefaultGame.ini and open the file
- Search for bWaitForMoviesToComplete=True
- Replace the “true” with “false” to disable any intro cinematics in Conan Exiles
- Save the DefaultGame.ini file
If you don’t feel confident about performing the above steps, there are also other ways of disabling the opening scene.
In the folder Conan Exiles\ConanSandbox\Content\Movies you can remove the following files:
- StartupUE4.mp4
- StartupNvidia.mp4
- CinematicIntroV2.mp4
