Ark: Survival Evolved Review
The Ark Survival Evolved review is one I have been looking forward to, although Ark does have flaws, it’s still one of my favorite survival games to date.
Many of you may remember The Stomping Lands. For those of you that don’t, it’s basically Ark but really rubbish and the developer ran away with our money without actually finishing the game.
Ark picked up the pieces from the ashes of The Stomping Lands, and restored some faith in the dinosaur survival genre.
That being said, it’s not always been a smooth ride, and I know many of you may disagree with my level of praise towards this game. But, despite it’s bugs and flaws, I do seem to always find my way back to the Ark.
The great thing about Ark is the modding community; where there are bugs, there is often a developer willing and able to make a mod to fix the bug or improve the game.
Ark: Survival Evolved DLC
Again this annoyed many people, for me it didn’t, I could see that the game was actively being worked on and with that in mind, I am happy to fork out on good quality DLC.

Each DLC offered new sets of dinosaurs as well as ones from the previous DLC’s, or the base game, plus new buildings and items.
For me, this kept the game fresh, especially with the ability to cross travel between Arks, and take dinosaurs to maps where they shouldn’t be.
Scorched Earth, while not the best DLC, was an interesting learning curve for players. Having to deal with heatstroke and sandstorms, plan journeys accordingly and even build with weather elements in mind.
It brought dinosaurs similar to camels that could be used to drink from, meaning there was more of a passive survival element to using dinosaurs rather than the standard aggressive element.
The Future of Ark?
Ark has now seen the end of it’s development cycle and wont have any further DLC released. This was confirmed with the release of Atlas.
My sources from my previous employment within the gaming industry has suggested that Ark 2 is well into development and will push Ark (and it’s story) further than ever before.
As pointed out (by Acaleb68 on a Survive The Ark forum post ) the above statement is my personal prediction of the future of Ark, based on the information I have previously received from the gaming industry. This does however potentially conflict with other information that’s available out there. However, many similar to me have seen the announcement from Wildcard as a direct promise of more DLC and content.
Wildcard will continue to support and expand ARK over the years
Wildcard have promised to support and expand Ark, but does this mean more DLC, or is this a clever way of saying they will expand the franchise with Ark 2? We will have to wait and see my friends!
Whilst I know some of you may be skeptical due to Ark’s remaining bugs and, more recently, the very negative reviews on Steam for Atlas.
I personally can’t wait to get back into the Ark, and once again roam the wilds on my favorite dinosaur (The Spinosaurus).
