Where To Find Metal in Ark Survival Ascended’s The Island Map

Metal is one of the most useful resources in Ark Survival Ascended, but for new players, it can be difficult to know where to look. Ark Survival Evolved players might also get a little confused, as metal nodes now look a little different, thanks to the new and improved graphics.

Thankfully, metal can be found all over The Island map, but there are some metal spots in Ark Survival Ascended that are just a little bit better if you are looking for somewhere to farm massive amounts of metal in Ark.

The Volcano (Best for Established Players)

If you’re looking to get as much metal as possible in Ark Survival Ascended’s The Island map, the volcano is easily one of the best spots to do so. The problem is that it’s also one of the most deadly spots, which is why you should make sure that you are at a high enough level and prepared to face the dangerous creatures

There are metal nodes both on top of the volcano and inside it, giving you plenty of nodes to farm almost as much metal as you could possibly need.

As well as having large amounts of metal on the volcano, there are also tons of spots for metal farming around the volcano, but again, there are plenty of tougher creatures to deal with around the volcano, so make sure you are well-equipped before exploring that area.

Herbivore Island (Best for Low-Level Players)

In the bottom right corner of the map, there is a small island known as Herbivore Island. As you might have guessed, it’s called Herbivore Island owing to the fact that all the dinosaurs that roam the island are herbivores, making it a safer place to farm metal.

Herbivore Island doesn’t have anywhere near as much metal as the volcano, but the few nodes it does have scattered around the island are easy to get, and you won’t need to worry about being eaten while you farm metal on the island.

Other Ark Survival Ascended Metal Spots

There are some other spots where you can farm metal in Ark Survival Ascended; however, the volcano is the best spot for bringing home mass amounts of metal, while Herbivore Island is ideal for newer and lower-level players.

The snow biome also has some great metal spots, as well as silica pearls, oil, and other valuable resources, but due to the extreme cold and much more brutal creatures, it’s not somewhere that is worth risking farming metal in when there are easier places to get just as much metal in Ark.

Another rule to follow when looking for Ark Survival Ascended’s metal node locations is to head to the nearest mountain. If you’re new to the game or just don’t know The Island very well, fly to the nearest mountain, and it’s a safe bet that you will find metal atop it.
